Byrne Creek Streamkeepers held a volunteer recruitment event on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.
We met at the offices of the Stream of Dreams Murals Society, and about 25 potential new volunteers came to see presentations on what streamkeepers do, and what activities we are looking for help with at Byrne Creek.
It was a great evening, and thanks to all who attended! We'll be adding you to our mail list, organizing a tour of the creek, and planning activities for the spring and summer.
Come join the Byrne Creek Streamkeepers!!!
Do you enjoy walking the trails around Byrne Creek and wonder how you can contribute and be involved in the land stewardship?
Perhaps you would like to participate in counting returning spawning salmon?
Is identifying & monitoring bugs your thing?
Maybe you are interested in water chemistry
Have you always wanted to help remove invasive plants?
Is public education important to you?
Do you prefer organizing and helping to manage a BC Society?
Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. Streamkeeper training is available through the Pacific Streamkeepers Federation pskf.ca. We can arrange for a training session right here at Byrne Creek!
